Poison ivy dermatitis is a relatively common malady affecting those coming in contact with the plant’s sap. While the contact is typically direct, one may contact it by coming in contact with a pet which may transfer it from the fur to the individual, or by working with equipment which may residual of the rosin. Over 80% of the population is sensitized to the rosin, but reactions vary from mild and inconsequential to widespread and severe. Depending on the severity, over the counter products might suffice. However, you may require a visit to a dermatologist to offer treatment, and to monitor the progress of your improvement.
